The contest was set for a cracker as 4 of the riders in contention for the overall crown battled it out against some of the world‘s best including Dave Winchester, Ben Player and Jake Stone.

As the forecast looked epic the event made its way down to the wedging beach break of Whale Beach. After two days of closely fought out competition local legend and 3 x world champion Ben Player used his local knowledge at his home break and took victory from good friend and fellow ex-Northern Beaches local Dave Winchester. Rounding out the final positions were Lee Wilson in 3rd and Lachlan Cramsie in 4th position.
